Hi I'm trying to buy some lens for my lumix gf2. I'm buying the body and the lens separatley.
1) do the bigger the lens number mean the farther it can zoom? (ex: like a deer you don't want to get too close to but want a good shot of?

1) That's basically correct, although when it comes to buying a particular lens the speed is often the most important (the wider the aperture, the faster the lens and the higher the price.

With all the nice feature advertised that made me decide to buy it – 14 MP, Optical stabilization, 2. I have a Lumix fz28 and very satisfied with it so I was sure that this Lumix would be the same (well, a little less quality as it is a way cheaper camera than the fz28). I do not know whether it is that particular camera or all Lumix LS5 is the same. Well at least better than a phone camera. How can a phone camera be better at focusing. What my Samsung Gio phone camera could do it could not. A pretty pink, powered with 2 AA batteries camera. This is a point and shoot camera, so even set on Auto it should be able to take simple pictures nicely. That is all I expected it to do. So that was the short lived relationship I had with the camera. I posted about getting the Lumix DMC LS5 sometime ago. They took it right away and asked whether I would like to exchange with something else. Right after the 28 trial picture I took, I packed it and sent it back to Mediamarkt.

Review of Panasonic Lumix GF1 After Using It For Over A Year
To complete my lens line up I wanted a large aperture medium telephoto lens and a macro lens. I bought two small prime lenses to go with the 14-45mm kit zoom (which is 28mm - 90mm focal length in full frame terms). They are the Panasonic 14mm f2. 5 and the Pansonic 20mm f1. 7 (28mm wide angle and 40mm standard on a full frame sensor). Well I have never taken so many photographs as I have since I got the Panasonic Lumix GF1 fourteen months ago. Panasonic Leica do a 45mm f2. 8 lens that does both but it is expensive, so I looked at alternatives. Both the primes are very nice and have many good reviews but the kit zoom with Image Stabilisation shouldn't be underestimated....
